How to build a Shopify growth stack.
- Choose the plan. Decide between Shopify and Shopify Plus on volume, checkout control and B2B needs.
- Build the app stack. Assemble a lean, well-integrated app stack rather than bolting on overlapping tools.
- Optimize checkout. Use checkout extensibility, bundles and subscriptions to lift conversion and order value.
- Automate operations. Use Shopify Flow and Functions to remove backend busywork.
- Track everything. Wire customer events and GA4/GTM so your reporting survives signal loss.

Shopify questions.
What is the difference between Shopify and Shopify Plus?
Shopify Plus is the enterprise tier. It adds checkout extensibility, higher API limits, wholesale and B2B, more staff accounts and dedicated support. Most brands move to Plus for checkout control and volume, not features alone.
What is checkout extensibility?
Checkout extensibility is Shopify's app-based way to customize the checkout on Plus, replacing the old checkout.liquid. You add branding, custom fields and logic through apps and Functions rather than editing checkout code directly.
Is headless Shopify with Hydrogen worth it?
Only when you need custom front-end experiences or performance beyond what themes allow. Headless with Hydrogen and Oxygen buys control and speed but adds engineering cost, so most stores are better served by an optimized theme.
What are Shopify Functions?
Shopify Functions let developers write custom backend logic - discounts, shipping and payment customization, validation - that runs on Shopify's infrastructure. They power much of what checkout extensibility exposes to merchants.
How do I track Shopify sales in GA4?
Use Shopify customer events to send server-side data alongside GA4 and Google Tag Manager. Server-side tracking recovers conversions lost to browser restrictions and gives cleaner ecommerce reporting.
What is Shopify Flow?
Shopify Flow is a no-code automation tool on Plus. It runs trigger-condition-action workflows - tagging customers, flagging fraud, managing inventory - so your team stops doing repetitive backend tasks by hand.
